Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects a person’s digestive and respiratory systems. The person’s body produces a thick, sticky mucus that results in abnormal challenges for everyday involuntary actions such as breathing and digesting food. Everyday life for a CF’er consists of clearing mucus out of the lungs and airways to allow for normal daily activities. This disease can be life threatening as the average life expectancy for someone with CF is 39 years. So why do we care about CF?
Levi! Levi is the grandson of Cal Nordhagen, the owner of our company, and has an infectious energy for living life to the fullest. On the outside, you would never know that Levi has CF, but on the inside he is daily maintaining his health so he can live way beyond 39. Every day Levi does 2 hours of breathing treatments and takes well over 20 pills just to stay healthy. In addition to this, he is a fourth grader who participates in many sports and uses his one of a kind energy and curiosity to engineer many inventions. Levi is an eternal optimist, who never has a problem finding the bright side of life even when he is sick visiting Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Levi celebrates his 10th birthday this month and we here at Nordhagen and Daughters Inspections celebrate with him! Levi inspires us to live life like it matters, because we never know how many birthdays any of us will get.
You can help Levi and the 30,000 other CF’ers in America by ordering your inspection online with our easy to use order sheet. Fill out all the required fields and we will donate $10 of your inspection fee to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This nonprofit organization is on the front lines for finding a cure for CF and by donating you can say you have played a part in curing this disease.
